Some explosive-ordnance disposal (EOD) master and senior master sergeants may be eligible for the critical skills retention bonus, the Air Force announced May 29. The service said the expanded eligibility is necessary in order to meet manpower needs in undermanned EOD specialties. To qualify, E-8s and E-9s must have at least 20 but no more than 22 years of service. The bonuses could range between $30,000 and $75,000, payable either periodically or in a lump sum.
