Hawaii-based soldiers attached to the 25th Infantry Division will get new jungle uniforms and boots next month. The soldiers will test their hot-weather effectiveness in February, when they take part in the upcoming Pacific Pathways exercise.

The combat uniform has several features to improve fabric performance, better pocket placements, and buttons instead of zippers. The boots are designed to be lighter and more flexible than their predecessors, and are puncture-proof, offer better traction, and capable of drying more quickly as well.
