The Army has selected the Sig Sauer Model P320 to replace the M9 service pistol. The new sidearm will be manufactured at the company’s New Hampshire facility. Company literature describes the P320 as “a polymer striker-fired pistol,” featuring “interchangeable grip modules that can also be adjusted in frame size and caliber.” The Army plans to buy both full-size and compact versions of the pistol during the next 10 years. Each pistol will be configured to hold both large and small magazines, and can be outfitted with silencers.
