A businessman traveling with his family to Israel from Los Angeles saw a large group of soldiers eating bag lunches while other travelers lavished in luxury at airport restaurants, and did something about it. During a layover in Shannon, Ireland, Shlomo Rechnitz approached to soldiers’ commander and offered to pay up to $50 a head for the soldiers to eat at any restaurant, the Web site Dailywire.com reported Nov. 18. Afterward, the commander approached Rechnitz and asked what motivated the largesse. “You guys risk your lives to protect me and protect my family. If I get to go out and see a whole bunch of Army soldiers and Marines, it’s something that makes me proud,” Dailywire reported. “I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he said.
