Marine Corps Commandant Gen. Robert B. Neller wants a “more balanced” service. Speaking before the Surface Navy Association’s National Symposium on Jan. 12, Neller called for a greater focus on waging information, electronic, and unmanned warfare — in addition to traditional amphibious, infantry, artillery and armor roles. “How long will it take to build an electronic warfare Marine? Or Marines who can do cyber, intelligence collection and analysis, and information ops?” Neller said to the audience, as reported by Seapower Magazine.
