The next Roger Staubach, Napoleon McCallum, Chad Hennings, or David Robinson will have to fulfill two years of military service upon commissioning before he or she would be allowed to become a professional athlete. The Pentagon on May 2 rescinded the policy that allowed newly commissioned officers to turn pro. Staubach, McCallum and Robinson each attended the Naval Academy. Hennings graduated from the Air Force Academy and served as an A-10 pilot during Operation Desert Storm and the immediate period afterwards. Staubach and Hennings played football for the Dallas Cowboys, and McCallum for the Oakland Raiders. Robinson played with the NBA San Antonio Spurs.
