The Vermont Air National Guard’s 158th Fighter Wing is now converting to the F-35 Lighting II fighter, which replaces the aging inventory of F-16 Fighting Falcons. With the change, the 158th becomes the first Guard fighter wing to get the new planes. A reserve wing in Fort Worth, Texas, also received F-35s The Air Force is surveying five additional locations across the country as possible homes for the F-35. The results should be public within the coming months. Additionally, Pease Air National Guard Base, N.H., has been selected as the Air Force’s first location to convert to the KC-46 Pegasus air-refueling tanker from the KC-135 Stratotanker.
