An Air Force helicopter rescued a Marine Corps pilot Sept. 22, after he ejected from his AF-8B Harrier II aircraft off the coast of Okinawa, Seapower Magazine reported. The Marine Corps did not provide any information regarding the pilot’s condition in the immediate aftermath of the incident. The pilot and plane were assigned to Marine Attack Squadron 542, operating in Okinawa at the time. Harriers deploy from the Japan-based amphibious assault ship Bonhomme Richard, Seapower reported.
