Chelsea Manning, the former male Army sergeant who was convicted of espionage, could face solitary confinement. Manning was caught holding prohibited materials in her cell at the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks in Fort Leavenworth, Kan. Manning was sentenced to 35 years in prison for her role in releasing classified information to the WikiLeaks Web site. She was known as Bradley Manning at the time. According to chelseamanning.org, a Web site dedicated to supporting her, Manning had possession of magazines dedicated to transgender issues, an expired tube of toothpaste, and the book, “I Am Malala.”
