Marines and the sailors who work with them should be less susceptible to burns, once the new uniform approved by Marine Corps Systems Command reaches them. The service announced Nov. 9 that the Enhanced Fire Resistant Combat Ensemble will be distributed to all personnel attached to Navy Expeditionary Combat Command and Naval Special Warfare Command when they deploy. The new uniform should accommodate body armor better than its predecessor as well, the Marine Corps said. The service expects to distribute roughly 70,000 uniforms sometime next year.
