Marines are getting a new, more easily concealed sidearm. The Glock 19M — which will be known among Marines as the M007 — is designed to be concealable when worn in uniform or civilian garb. As such, the service believes it is ideal for use among law-enforcement personnel and other specialists, whose jobs require it not to be obvious that they are armed. Members of the Marine Corps Criminal Investigation Division and Helicopter Squadron One (responsible for transporting the president and vice president) already have the new pistol. Besides being easy to hide, the M007 also offers a more ergonomic grip than its predecessors, can be reloaded quickly, and is easily changed to accommodate right- or left-handed shooters.
