The Navy no longer will require sailors to log onto Navy Knowledge Online, Navy eLearning or My Navy Portal in order to complete their General Military Training (GMT), except for Cybersecurity topics. Vice Adm. Robert Burke, the Navy’s personnel chief, said the decision was made in reaction to sailors’ complaints that online training is “inefficient and impersonal.” Meanwhile, the Navy plans to move forward toward making MT requirements “more engaging and personalized,” according to Navy Personnel Command.
