The Navy is gearing up to train crews and maintenance teams for the CMV-22 Osprey. At some point, the Navy’s version of the tilt-rotor aircraft will replace the C-2A Greyhound as the primary carrier-onboard-delivery (COD) aircraft. Seapower Magazine reported Dec. 22 that service has selected Marine Corps Air Station New River, N.C., as the site for the new training detachment. The Navy wants to procure 44 Ospreys in 2018, with delivery beginning in 2020, Seapower reported.
