New Public Affairs Chief Appointed

Maura Sullivan, a former Marine Corps captain who served in the Iraq War, was appointed the new assistant to the secretary of defense for public affairs. Sullivan will succeed the outgoing Brent Colburn, who will be leaving in July. A graduate of Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School, Sullivan moves to the Pentagon after having served most recently as the principal public affairs advisor to Veterans Affairs Secretary Bob McDonald.
