Service members stationed at Bagram Air Base were invited to take to a special game of touch football last month – sponsored by the NFL’s New York Jets. The game pitted soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division, 25th Signal Battalion and the 518th Resolute Support Sustainment Brigade. Players wore Jets-themed, green-and-white uniforms, while members and players from the Jets organization looked on. The team supplied balls, clipboards, air pumps and other equipment, along with jerseys that were emblazoned with the words “Resolute” and “Support” where players’ names usually are. The Jets also distributed tailgate items to the soldiers, which had been prepared by their family members back home. As for the game itself, a team of non-commissioned officers thrashed a team composed of officers, 38-6.
