The Navy plans to focus on green during this year’s RIMPAC (Rim of the Pacific) Exercise. “Environmental stewardship is key for this year’s themes and for the entire exercise,” Undersecretary of the Navy Janine Davidson said. “Our Great Green Fleet, this year-long initiative, is playing a major role in RIMPAC 2016 through the use of energy-conservation measures and alternative fuel blends. All this means we can go out farther, stay out longer and deliver more firepower,” she said. Navy oilers will be replenishing ships from eight different nations during the exercise.
