The Navy’s Household Goods (HHG) team has told sailors to expect compressed timelines for planning their moves this year. The reason: tight money, under the continuing resolution (CR) under which the service is operating for the remainder of the fiscal year, which ends Oct. 1. “Service members will receive their orders only approximately two months prior to their expected move timeframe,” the Naval Supply Systems Command Global Logistics Support Office stated Feb. 9. The HHG team said it would make every effort to ensure smooth transitions to new duty stations, but emphasized that sailors and their families should take steps on their end to help — including submitting official orders to the online website as soon as they get them.
