The Air Force Special Operations Command will upgrade its fleet of AC -130J Ghostrider and MC-130J Commando II aircraft with a new system that would make operations both safer and more effective. The planes are getting a better radio frequency countermeasure system, which the service says will allow operators to “detect, identify, locate, deny, degrade, disrupt and defeat” a host of adversaries. The total contract will cost more than $300 million. The contractor is BAE Systems, Electronic Combat Solutions division.
