The Army and its international partners have awarded a $1.45 billion contract to Lockheed Martin Corp., for upgrades to the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) and PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (PAC-3 MSE) interceptor missiles. Joining the Army in the Patriot project are Qatar, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The upgrades will enhance Patriot’s capabilities in knocking out threats from ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and aircraft.
