The U.S. Naval Academy has removed a uniformed history professor from his position, amid reports of sexual misconduct. The Washington Post reported April 26 that Marine Corps Maj. Michael Pretus engaged in sex with a fellow Marine and a female midshipman in 2011, before he started teaching at the Annapolis school. Academy leadership chose to remove Pretus immediately, about a month ago, as soon as inspectors came forward with indications that the illegal misconduct took place.
