The highest and lowest-rated agencies in the Partnership for Public Service’s new rankings of best places to work by mission were:
In energy and environment, highest were the Environment and Natural Resources Division of Justice, the FERC and the NRC. Lowest were the NPS, Office of Surface Mining, Reclamation and Enforcement of Interior, and the Forest Service.
In infrastructure, highest were the Federal Highway Administration, the Office of Energy Products in FERC and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Lowest were the National Protection and Programs Directorate in DHS, the Bureau of Land Management in Interior, and the Office of Community Planning and Development in HUD.
In law enforcement and border protection, highest were the Coast Guard, Citizenship and Immigration Services, and the U.S. Marshals Service. Lowest were the Secret Service, TSA and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
In national security, highest were the Intelligence Community, state and Navy. Lowest were DHS, Army and Air Force.
In public health, highest were CDC, CMS and FDA. Lowest were the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration in HHS, the Defense Health Agency, and the Indian Health Service in HHS.
