The Executive Office of the President has established a Presidential Management Fellows Program that extends the benefits of the Presidential Management Intern Program to outstanding employees in any field or discipline with a clear interest in and commitment to service in public sector management.

The EOP says that Fellows will be selected based on exceptional ability and commitment demonstrated in graduate level study and must at least be close to receiving an advanced degree.

Senior Presidential Management Fellows will have demonstrated exceptional leadership and analytical ability through extensive work experience. Appointments are for up to two years, unless extended by the department or agency head and agreed to by the Director of the Office of Personnel Management.
