The House has approved three agency management-related bills:

HR-4174, to require agencies to establish a data inventory and federal data catalog; submit an evidence-building plan, to be consolidated into one government-wide plan by OMB; and designate a chief evaluation officer to coordinate evidence-building activities as well as a chief data officer. It also would establish an advisory committee on data for evidence building and set new data privacy standards.

HR-3071, to require agencies to consider equipment rental in any analysis performed prior to acquiring a piece of equipment. Agencies are already required to consider purchasing or leasing when evaluating the acquisition of equipment; the bill would clarify that renting equipment is an acceptable method for acquiring it.

HR-2331, to require that any new public agency websites be accessible through mobile devices.
