Federal Manager's Daily Report

The Office of Management and Budget has sent a memo to agencies inviting applications for an award whose winner may get more attention than many internal government award program winners typically receive because it’s for a management area that is receiving White House level interest.

OMB is soliciting nominations for the Donald L. Scantlebury Memorial Awards, which recognize distinguished senior executive leadership in financial management; improved financial management is among the top priorities in the Bush administration’s management agenda, which OMB also oversees.

Time is of the essence. Nominations must be received by January 8 for an award that will be presented at a Joint Financial Management Improvement Program conference in Washington, D.C. on March 9. For further information, go online or call 202-219-0526.
