OPM has extended to Hurricane Maria the authority for agencies to conduct special solicitations in their workplaces, authority it had previously granted regarding Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Agencies are to identify the charity or charities that will receive the contributions, which are separate from the annual Combined Federal Campaign solicitation that is about to start. The special solicitations for all three hurricanes have been extended through October 13, OPM said in a memo to agencies.

OPM separately extended to employees affected by Maria the emergency leave transfer programs it earlier had authorized for Harvey and Irma. OPM also has reminded agencies of the special hiring authorities available to them for disaster-related operations.
