Federal Manager's Daily Report

In a lesson that could apply as well to many agencies, SSA says it has found the most popular content involves postings of direct interest to personal finances and interactions with the agency.

SSA has used its blog, launched 18 months ago, to conduct “an honest conversation with you about our programs, the topics that matter to you, and how our agency can better serve you,” it said in listing its top-10 list of most-read postings.

The most popular article in that time, it said, involved changes to laws for claiming benefits. That was followed by one about ex-spouse benefits; an explanation of a COLA adjustment to benefits; how to navigate the disability claiming process; and how to report changes in personal information.

The next five: warned about scams; provided general information about disability benefits; described how to replace a Social Security card; and how to get a statement of estimated future benefits. No. 10 was the annual listing of the most popular names for newborns.
