Federal Manager's Daily Report

The IG’s office at the VA has begun publicly releasing on its website the results of investigations closed without further action in response to allegations regarding mismanagement, wastefulness, and inefficiency.

“Since these documents were not intended for publication, the work products do not meet professional standards, such as generally accepted government auditing standards or Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency quality standards for inspection and evaluation, which typically apply to reports published by OIG,” it adds.

The first batch of such documents involved issues at the VA central office and at facilities in a dozen states.

The office also recently began posting the results of probes that don’t lead to issuance of formal reports but instead result in internal “administrative advisories” to departmental leadership.
