COLA Count Still Negative

With just two months to go in the counting period toward the January 2016 federal retirement COLA, the count remains in negative territory at -0.2 percent, following no change during July in the inflation index used to set that adjustment. The final count will be announced in late October, reflecting the September figure. If the count finishes negative, benefits will be frozen but not reduced.
