Unlike in the FEHB and FEDVIP programs, where current coverage continues unless changed, re-enrollment is required each year in another program affected by the open season starting November 14, the flexible spending account program. The maximum will remain $5,000 for dependent care accounts and will rise from $2,550 to $2,600 for health care accounts, following a recent announcement by the IRS lifting the latter amount due to inflation. In another change, the USPS will no longer offer its own separate program and its employees will be eligible instead for the standard “FSAFeds” program.
