A House leader on transportation issues, Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., meanwhile continues to pressure the White House to issue an executive order to liberalize the transit subsidy program (see above item). Wolf would like to see subsidies in amounts equal to actual commuting costs rather than limited to $65 a month, as well as other steps such as preferential parking for car and van pools, showers, bike racks and other facilities for those who bike or jog to work, and better shuttle service between transit stations and agency offices.
