The key House committee overseeing the federal workforce, Oversight and Government Reform, has set its lineup for the current Congress, where it will deal with proposals with potentially large impacts on federal employee pay, benefits, workplace policies and job rights. Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, remains the chairman–and Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., the ranking Democrat–as previously announced, while Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., remains as chair of the government operations subcommittee, the first stop for many of those proposals. Other subcommittee chairmen, all Republicans, are Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio, health care, benefits and administrative rules; Will Hurd of Texas, information technology; Gary Palmer of Alabama, intergovernmental affairs; Blake Farenthold of Texas, interior, energy and environment; and Ron DeSantis of Florida, national security.
