The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association has reached a goal set at its 2014 convention of a cumulative $12 million donation by its members by the end of this year to its NARFE-Alzheimer’s Research Fund. “The total represents thousands of individual member donations and proceeds from hundreds of small fundraising efforts,” NARFE said, adding that through a partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association in Chicago, all of the donations go to research. NARFE has funded 71 research projects since making Alzheimer’s a national project in 1985. The NARFE national convention this year set a goal of reaching a cumulative total of $13 million in 2018.
