Each TSP fund produced a gain for calendar year 2016–the first time that has happened since 2012–led by the small company stock S fund’s 16.35 percent rise, the largest yearly gain for any fund since that fund rose by more than 38 percent in 2013. The large company stock C fund gained 12.01 percent, the bond F fund 2.91 percent, the international stock I fund 2.1 percent and the government securities G fund 1.82 percent. The returns for the lifecycle L funds were: Income, 3.58; 2020, 5.47; 2030, 7.07; 2040, 7.9; 2050, 8.65.
