GPO Recognized for Budget AppPublished: Monday, October 01, 2012
The Government Printing Office has received a Digital Government Achievement Award from the Center for Digital Government in recognition of an app it developed for the fiscal 2013 budget.
The app, part of the GPO’s effort to overhaul its operations and identity during a societal shift to digital communication generally and smart phone technology in particular, provides users with free access to the text and images of the fiscal 2013 budget, including the budget message of the President, information on the President’s priorities, and budget overviews organized by agency.
"This award is an honor and a testament to GPO’s efforts to make government information available to the public in popular formats," said acting public printer Davita Vance-Cooks.
The app also provides links to summary tables and additional books of the budget including analytical perspectives, appendix and historical tables.
