Reemployment Issues

Rehired annuitants who are not already enrolled in the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program have an opportunity to enroll as an active employee upon rehiring. For 60 days after rehiring, they and their spouses may enroll under the “abbreviated” underwriting requirements that ask fewer questions about health and health-related issues than does “full” underwriting that otherwise applies.


Those who had FLTCIP coverage before becoming reemployed may keep the coverage uninterrupted by continuing to pay the premiums. They should contact their payroll offices about arranging to have premiums deducted from their salaries.
