2 SEALs Suspected in SF Soldier’s Death

Military criminal investigators are probing the possible role of two Navy SEALs in June 4 death of Army Staff Sgt. Logan J. Melgar in Bamako, Mali, the New York Times reported Oct. 29. Melgar was found dead under suspicious circumstances in embassy housing there, the Times reported. An autopsy determined that Melgar was strangled to death. Melgar was attached to the Fort Bragg, N.C.-based 3rd Special Forces Group. The two sailors, who are attached to SEAL Team 6, have been placed in administrative leave and shipped out of the country, the Times reported.
