The Air Force grounded its fleet of B-1B Lancer bombers March 28, pending the outcome of an examination into issues with the rigging of the aircraft’s drogue chute system. A routine inspection uncovered the problem, according to the service.

“It appears to be a procedural issue and is unrelated to the previous problem with egress system components,” the Air Force said in a statement.
The stand-down would last until technicians and maintenance personnel could “thoroughly inspect the aircraft.”
