The Air Force has begun issuing new trainees with the Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP) uniforms. Recruits with the Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas-based 37th Training Wing became the first to get the new garb, which the service adapted from the identical one worn by the Army. Each new airman got four sets of uniforms, which they will wear until they receive their first clothing allowance. The plan calls for issuing the uniforms to some 33,000 airmen during basic military training. Come June 1, airmen will begin receiving new coyote brown boots, socks and t-shirts.
