Brig. Gen. Kristin Goodwin has been removed from her job as the commandant of Cadets at the U.S. Air Force Academy. The Colorado Springs (Colo.) Gazette reported April 30 that Goodwin was removed pending the results of an unspecified investigation into her activities, according to a statement the Air Force provided to the paper. The service declined to provide any further details, citing the ongoing investigation. Goodwin is the first openly gay commandant in the academy’s history.
