The Army plans to upgrade its fleet of UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, the Association of the U.S. Army reported. The plan calls for phasing out the oldest Alpha model during the next five years — with the last aircraft retired from the National Guard by 2022 and the active force by 2024.
“Going forward, the intent is also to convert all of the Lima aircraft to Victor models as well,” Lt. Gen. Paul Ostrowski, the principal military deputy to the assistant Army secretary for acquisition, logistics and technology, told the Senate Armed Services air-land subcommittee during a recent hearing, AUSA reported.
