Military medical and dental treatment facilities have been ordered to postpone all elective procedures, beginning March 31. The order applies to all beneficiaries, to include active-duty and reserve-component service members, families, retirees and delayed-entry people.

Health officials made the decision for three reasons: to protect the health of medical caregivers, prolong personal-protection supplies for emergency use, and ensure that caregivers are available to meet the needs of COVID-19 patients.
