Army Command Sgt. Maj. John W. Troxell became the newest senior enlisted advisor to the Joint Chiefs of Staff during a Dec. 11 Pentagon ceremony, succeeding Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Bryan B. Battaglia, who is retiring. Troxell took the oath from Marine Corps Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., the chairman of the Joint Chiefs. Before assuming his new position, Troxell served as senior enlisted advisor to now-retired Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, the former JCS chairman.
