The Unified Exchange Task Force, which is working on a plan to integrate the three military exchange services into one organization, has launched a Web site at www.unifiedexchange.org. The group will use the site to inform exchange beneficiaries on what is happening to their benefit, explained retired Air Force Maj. Gen. C.J. Wax, task force director and former commander of the Army and Air Force Exchange Service. Currently, three exchanges operate: the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, the Navy Exchange and the Marine Corps Exchange. When the integration scheme was launched last May, several veterans-oriented organizations such as NAUS expressed reservations about the need for consolidation. Furthermore, the Marine Corps went on record opposing it. When the task force completes its work, it will turn over its findings to the deputy secretary of defense.
