Gray area retirees – those who completed enough years of service to qualify for retirement but not yet eligible to draw pay – now have a better way to keep track of their pay and benefits: a new web-based account from the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS).
With a Future Retiree myPay account, these retirees can keep up with changes in policy and law that could affect them. It also serves as a means of communication between retirees and the agency, and will serve as the site where applications for retirement pay will be processed.
The agency’s web site, www.dfas.mil, contains links to each relevant reserve-component link. Gray area retirees who want to apply or have questions about their benefits should click on the relevant link.
