The Army is moving forward with a large-scale training exercise, conducted jointly with Poland. The Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) reported May 14 that the Allied Spirit exercise, which involves more than 6,000 soldiers from both countries, will be the first of this size since the COVID-19 pandemic began. It will take place June 5-19 at a Polish training area. Participating U.S. units include the 1st Cavalry Division, as well as the 3rd Infantry Division’s 3rd Aviation Combat Brigade and the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, AUSA reported. Polish airborne, cavalry and mechanized brigades will participate as well. The Army is putting a series of safety measures into place, to screen for COVID-19.
