The Nimitz-class carrier Abraham Lincoln completed fleet carrier qualifications for the F-35 Lightning II March 17-21, marking a new milestone for the Navy’s newest fighter aircraft. During operations at sea, members of Strike Fighter squadrons (VFA) 125 and 101 made more than 140 traps during day and night qualification flights. Operational testing for the F-35 will begin sometime later this year.
