Two Marine Corps pilots — Maj. Matthew M. Wiegand, 34, of Ambler, Pa., and Capt. Travis W. Brannon, 30, of Nashville, Tenn. — died when their AH-1Z Viper helicopter crashed during a training exercise near Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz., on March 30. Wiegand was attached to the Yuma-based Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One. Brannon was assigned to Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 367, based at Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
