Marines are now fielding the new M320A1 grenade launcher. Able to be used as a stand-alone weapon or mounted onto other weapons such as the M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle, the M320A1 will allow Marines to target adversaries anytime of the day or night.

It replaces the M203A2 grenade launcher. The new system reached operational capability earlier this year, while it was fielded by Marines undergoing New Equipment Training and attached to II Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
