The Army must undergo fundamental and significant changes in order to adapt to the evolving character of warfare, Gen. Mark A Milley, the service’s chief of staff, believes. In a Dec. 13 interview with Army Magazine, the official publication of the Association of the U.S. Army, Milley said, “Every assumption we hold, every claim, every assertion, every single one of them must be challenged.” Soldiers one day could serve in a scenario that no longer involves “divisions, or corps, tanks or Bradleys,” Milley said. “We don’t know.”
