Soldiers, dependents and other Defense Department beneficiaries near Fort Bragg, North Carolina, are now among the eligible pool of participants in Phase 3 of the clinical trial for the COVID-19 vaccine. Operation Warp Speed, the Pentagon-led effort to inoculate the nation against the deadly virus, announced that the post’s Womack Army Medical Center has been added to the list of Defense Department facilities taking part in the trial. Two-thirds of all volunteers would receive the Novavax vaccine candidate NVX-CoV2373, while the remaining volunteers would get a placebo.
